WCAG accessibility scanner

What the scanner checks

We run axe-core, the engine behind most commercial tools, inside a real Chrome, so we see computed colours, focus states and JavaScript-rendered content. On top of it we add our own rules for criteria axe does not cover: the accessible name compared exactly against the visible label, form field borders against their background, links that differ only by colour, text that is too small and horizontal scrolling at 320 pixels.

Every finding comes with the WCAG criterion, the level A, AA or AAA, the element in the page and the recommended fix. The score is computed per page and then averaged, so one defect repeated in the template does not sink the whole site.

Why it matters

The European Accessibility Act applies from 28 June 2025 to many consumer services, and public bodies have been covered earlier through EN 301 549. The required level is AA. Beyond the obligation, an accessible site is also read correctly by search engines and AI assistants.
