Case study: SEO for Dwx.ro, 240% organic traffic growth in 12 months
1. About the client
Dwx.ro is a Romanian file hosting and sharing platform, built in-house by our company, GOAI Promovare of Alba Iulia. The site lets users upload, store and share files quickly and securely, with monetisation options for content creators.Main services and features:
- Easy, fast uploading of up to 10 files at once, with a 600 MB limit per file
- Instant sharing through a direct link, optionally password-protected or download-limited
- Automatic file deletion after an interval the user chooses
- Monetisation: earnings from downloads of shared files, with a tracking panel and withdrawals
- Fast servers, for uploads in seconds and stable downloads
- User support: a free account, a personalised panel, essential and analytics cookies
- Minimal organic traffic: under 300 organic sessions a month
- Little visibility on niche searches such as "free file hosting Romania", "upload large files online" and "file sharing with monetisation"
- Competition from international platforms (Mega.nz, MediaFire, WeTransfer) and other Romanian services
- A new platform with limited on-page work, no educational content and weak backlinks
2. The strategy
We applied a full SEO strategy, adapted to the 2025-2026 Google algorithms, with the emphasis on genuinely useful content, E-E-A-T, and optimization for how-to and monetisation searches. It ran in three phases:Phase 1: technical and on-page audit (first 3 months)
- Detailed SEO audit: load speed, Core Web Vitals and a simple URL structure
- Rewritten titles and meta descriptions, for example "Free file hosting and sharing, monetise your content | Dwx.ro"
- Schema.org for WebSite, Service, FAQ and HowTo
- Homepage and upload page optimized for featured snippets and AI answers
Phase 2: content and link building (months 4 to 8)
- A guides and blog section with more than 35 articles, such as "How to monetise your files online in 2025", "Best practices for sharing large files safely" and "How to avoid account blocks on file sharing services"
- Sustainable link building: guest posts on technology, download and online monetisation blogs in Romania and abroad
- Local and international SEO: optimization for Romanian searches such as "free file upload", with additional English content for global traffic
Phase 3: monitoring and continuous work (months 9 to 12)
- Monthly Google Analytics and Search Console reporting
- UX improvements: a better user panel, support chat, earnings notifications, simpler withdrawals
- Adjustments driven by real data and by Google updates
3. Results from January to December 2025

4. Conclusion and lessons
Dwx.ro shows how SEO combined with an appealing monetisation model can turn a file sharing platform into a popular service, in Romania and beyond. As an in-house project of GOAI Promovare in Alba Iulia, it demonstrates our work in file sharing technology niches, educational content, and SEO for free services with an upsell.Key lessons:
